Professional Development Opportunities for Coaches

Nov. 05, 2024

Professional Development Opportunities

The Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association is excited to offer some online, informative sessions to support your lacrosse coaching journey.  The presenters will be sharing their ideas as they relate to athletes at the U15 level and above.  These sessions will also count toward your professional development requirements to maintain your certification.  Here are the professional development requirements for each of the levels of lacrosse coaches:

Certification Level

Professional Development Points Required

Community Development (CMD)

no PD points required

Competition Introduction (CPI)

20 PD points every 5 years

Competition Development (COMP-DEV)

30 PD points every 5 years

How you can Accumulate PD Points:

  • NCCP training or evaluation events are worth 5 points.
  • Non-NCCP events are worth 1 point for each hour they last, up to a maximum of 3 points.
  • “Active coaching” will give you 1 point per year.
  • Through “Self-directed learning” you can earn a maximum of 3 points per five-year PD cycle.

Teams Meetings Seminars Dates:

Session 1: Box Lacrosse from an Official’s Perspective with Marcus Fischer

Tues. Nov. 26 8:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M.
