Minor Lacrosse Programs


House Programs

The Saskatchewan Lacrosse Associations offers house programs for individuals under the age of 18 in Box Lacrosse and 20 in Field Lacrosse. Each SLA Member Association offers different Minor Lacrosse leagues, clinics, and camps for their house programs. For the most up to date information on Minor Lacrosse programs in your area please contact the SLA Provincial Office or visit the Play portion of the website to Find Your Team.
The following age divisions are used in all SLA Minor Lacrosse Programs. The age divisions shall be as of December 31 of the current playing season. (E.G. an individual who turns 7 years old in December of the current year is a U9 division player even though he/she was only 6 years old for the duration of the playing season.)
  • U7 - 6 & under
  • U9 - 8 & under
  • U11 - 10 & under
  • U13 - 12 & under
  • U15 - 14 & under
  • U17 - 16 & under
  • U20 (Field) - 19 & under

Saskatchewan "A" Box Lacrosse League

The Saskatchewan "A" Box Lacrosse League is a minor High Performance Box Lacrosse league consisting of top Box players across the Province.  This league provides an opportunity for our high-performance Box Players to further progress their athletic development.  The league currently consists of the following teams:
  • Regina Barracuda  - represents Queen City Minor Box Lacrosse
  • Saskatchewan SWAT - represents Saskatoon Box Lacrosse Association
  • Northern Sask Predators - represents Prince Albert Lacrosse Association, Melfort Lacrosse Association and Northern Sask communities
  • South Sask Stealth - represents Estevan Lacrosse, Weyburn Lacrosse Association, Swift Current Lacrosse Association, and Moose Jaw Lacrosse Assocation
  • U15A Standing Buffalo Fighting Sioux - represents Dakota Lacrosse Association, Carnduff Lascrosse Association, Yorkton Lacrosse Association, Chuchbridge Lacrosse Association  and Sturgis Lacrosse Association. 
These age divisions in this league are:
  • U13
  • U15
  • U17

 

Private Entities

The Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association wants to work with as many groups as possible to provide as much opportunity for growth and development for the players.  In order to do this, the Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association as policies in place that private groups can follow to become sanctioned under the SLA.
The following entities are sanctioned by the SLA:
  • Saskatchewan SWAT
  • Sask Infinite Lacrosse
  • Sentinels Lacrosse
As per SLA policy, participation in unsanctioned/unapproved activity between April 1st & October 31st, will find players ineligible to participate in any SLA activity, including all House, High Performance (A League), and National Events.
