Please see the link below for a letter from Lacrosse Canada cancelling 9 of their 2021 National Championships. While this is disappointing news, it is not unexpected as our colleagues in other Province’s head into stricter lock downs in the coming weeks and safety of the Athletes, Coaches, Officials and all the volunteers it takes to put events of this nature on, is always first priority.
As the update states, this does NOT mean the 2021 Lacrosse season is cancelled, especially here in Saskatchewan as we prepare to have restrictions lifted in the coming weeks. With the recent Re-Open Plan Pathway announcements, we are confident we will have an exciting Lacrosse season with game play and league play. The 2021 SLA Provincial Championships are still being planned, just might be on different dates and the next couple weeks will be focused on planning the different ways we can offer a fun season filled with development and competitive opportunities.
