SLA OFFICIALS SELECTED TO REPRESENT CANADA AT 2018 WORLD FIELD LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations to SLA Officials, Ian Wilson and Nathan Adams for being selected to represent Canada at the 2018 World Field Lacrosse Championships in Netanya Israel! The Saskatchewan Officials will represent Canada and Saskatchewan, in July, at the highest level of Field Lacrosse competition in the world.  Everyone at the SLA wishes Mr. Wilson and Mr. Adams luck in this exciting endeavor!

IAN WILSON

  • Provincial Field Lacrosse team member (Midfielder) 1986-1998.
  • 1996 – Began refereeing field lacrosse.
  • 1997-Present – Referee in Chief for Saskatoon Field Lacrosse
  • 1998-2006 – Referee in Chief for Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association
  • 2003-Present – member of the National Officiating Certification Program (NOCP) Committee
  • 1996-Present – Refereed at every Provincial U-19 and U-16 championships in Saskatchewan
  • 1999-Present – Refereed either the U19/U16 or the Senior Men’s National championships. Selected for the Gold medal crew every year since 2004.
  • 2006 – Selected to referee at the Men’s World Field Lacrosse Championships in London, Ontario. Part of
    the crew that worked the Bronze medal game between Australia and The Iroquois Nationals.
  • 2010 – Selected to referee the Blue Division at the Men’s World Field Lacrosse Championships in
    Manchester England and chosen to ref the Bronze medal game between Japan and Australia.
  • 2014 – Selected to referee the Blue Division at the Men’s World Field Lacrosse Championships in
    Denver, Colorado and part of the crew that refereed the Bronze medal game between Australia
    and the Iroquois Nationals.
  • 2015 – Selected to referee at the Asia Pacific Championships in Bangkok Thailand and chosen to
    referee in the Gold medal game between Japan and Thailand.
  • 2016 – Present – Official with the National Lacrosse League as a Shot Clock Operator.
  • 2017 – Selected to referee the Blue division in Netanya Israel in July 2018 for the Men’s World Field Lacrosse Championships.

NATHAN ADAMS

  • Member of Stingers Lacrosse Program 2008
  • 2007: Began refereeing field lacrosse.
  • 2009 – Present: Refereed at U16/U19 Provincials Championships in Saskatchewan
  • 2010 – Present: Refereed the U16/U19 National Championships. Selected for Bronze crew in 2010; Gold medal crews from 2011 on
  • 2014 – Selected to referee Red division at the Men’s World Field Lacrosse Championships in Denver Colorado
  • 2017 – Selected to referee the Red division in Netanya Israel in July 2018 for the Men’s World Field Lacrosse Championships
